Veganism & Animal Rights

Being an animal activist is a very important way of showing that you care about the planet and it's creatures. Millions of animals are tortured and killed every year purely for human consumption, for the use in products, and for their fur. The way the animals are treated is inexcusable. They are confined to minute sized cages where they are unable to turn around or spread their wings and legs. They are pumped with hormones to increase growth faster, seperated from their families, and fed inadequate feed and water. Their lives are miserable and the animals develop vices like knawing at cage bars and nipping themselves because they are driven to madness by their living conditions.
Most of society remains blissfully ignorant to the way animals are treated. They dont care where their meat and other animals products come from. By becoming vegan, you decrease the demand for animal products, which in turn decreased the supply.
If veganism is too hardcore to start, being vegetarian is nearly as effective, and alot easier.
Even just cutting your meat consumption in half helps.
Household products like shampoo, lotion, makeup, may contain glyercine which is derived from animal fats. Think about it, do you really want animal fats all over yourself? Also, gelatin is an ingredient in many products, which is made from ground up animal bones and hooves. These things are unneeded, there are other ingredients and componants that can be used.
Animals have been exploited for far too long. They are used in circus performances and entertainment. They are scalded alive, skinned alive, beat over the head, their throats slit while still conscious. This is intollerable. How can the human race accept and continue to perform this heartless and cruel behaviour?
You can do your part to stop animal cruely easily, it takes as little as not eating meat or using products derived from animals. Its not difficult. Its the healthy way to live; almost all diseases can be linked back to the consumption of meat and dairy.
By taking small steps you can begin to stop animal exploitation. Do your part.

The ending of the story, The Lottery, is shocking to readers because in the beginning, the village is depicted to be one of normalcy and the towns people seem to possess an air of passiveness and a care free lifestyle. The lottery in question, turns out to be very ironic because winning a lottery is usually meant to be lucky because you win money and prizes. However in this instance, "winning" the lottery in this village means losing your life. If your name is drawn, the other villagers stone you to death. Similarities of this story can be drawn to real life experiences, such as innacurate first impressions of people. Upon first introduction a person decides what they think of the other after, but this conception of a person may change upon getting to know them better. Similarities can be drawn between "The Lottery" and "The Perils Of Indifference". The villagers in the story, "The Lottery" lack compansion for their fellow man. They choose to participate in the murder of the unlucky person whose name is drawn. They do not care about anyone but themselves. They are joyous that it was them who was spared, and disregard the victim. This is similar in a sense to the lack of human compassion shown when people participate in wars. Capturing and torturing prisoners. Mercilessly killing fellow humans. No one cares about others' suffering. As long as they are not being held captive, torutured and killed, as long as their family is not being massacred, they do not so much as batt an eye. These are two very different articles, but points made in both relate. There is a common disregard and sense of indifference at the well being of human kind, as long as their loved ones are not affected.

J.K. Rowling's best work is undoubtedly her most recent of the Harry Potter series; The Order Of The Pheonix, The Half-Blood Prince, and the final book; The Deathly Hollows.
The last three novels contain the most exciting and dangerous ventures and
events of the whole series, with Harry and his friends barely surviving ordeal after ordeal, in the quest to destroy the most evil and powerful dark wizard of their time, Lord Voldemort. It is impossible to compare these books to the first few in the series because so much has changed, there are so many more dangers, more twists and turns and unexpected outcomes and events that keep the reader wanting more.
The Order Of The Pheonix is terribly sad at points, such as when Harry's only living relative, Sirius Black, is murdered by his cousin, a follower of Voldemort, while dueling in order to save everyone else from their demise. The Order Of The Pheonix is the book in which the lives of innocent people are claimed, and only to increase the death count in the later books. Things are starting to get even more interesting in the series at this point.
In The Half-Blood Prince, Harry is beginning to descover the truth about the events that lead him to be where he is in the present, as well as the understanding of past incidences that he must understand if he ever hopes to defeat Lord Voldemort. This story sends shock waves to the reader on almost every page. Something new is descovered that increases the plot's interest at every chapter.
The final book of the Harry Potter series, The Deathly Hollows, cronicles the most exciting of Harry and his friends' undertakings. At every turn is a new surprise which makes it difficult to put the book down. These books are the best of the 21st century. They appeal to a vast audience and the fact that they were interesting enough to be made into films is only proof that the public wants more.
These three novels are the best stories of this century.
